World Communion Sunday - Altar Design

I was debating what to do for my World Communion Sunday altar design, when I discovered these two lovely designs by Preaching in Pumps:

After being inspired by her design, I stacked many hymnals on the back of the communion table and then covered the table with a worldly-looking table cloth that I got from Home Goods. I put my Communion set in the middle and decorated each side with an item from Ten Thousand Villages (a fair trade store). The right sculpture is a tea light surrounded by a family circle. The left sculpture, at least in my interpretation, symbolizes the trinity and, because all three loops are connected, unity.

I found an old basket in the attic and covered it with a green table cloth and placed it in front of the altar. It was pretty easy to fill with bread - it contained only four loaves. It was a small basket so I did not need to make an adjustments beyond just stuffing them in the basket.

I also made home made communion bread, which you can seen in the photos below. You can find the recipe here.
