Food Drive for the Pride Center
This November we are having a food drive for the New Haven Pride Center. The list of items is below. Drop them off any Sunday morning at church!
The mission of the New Haven Pride Center is to provide educational, cultural, and social enrichment programming, LGBTQ+ competent and trauma-informed services for the LGBTQ+ community, and to make a positive contribution to Greater New Haven and Connecticut.
The Center maintains a FREE food pantry for food-insecure community members and their families. The New Haven Pride Center’s food pantry thrives on the generosity of those who collect items for us throughout the year. A list of needed items includes:
Canned Fruits (low-sugar)
Canned Vegetables (low-sodium)
Canned Soups (low-sodium)
Canned fish (tuna & salmon)
Canned meats (chicken & pork)
Rice (brown)
Cereal (low-sugar)
Canned Beans
Pasta (dry)
Individual Snacks (granola bars, chips, etc.)
Individual drinks (low sugar)
Ziploc Sandwich Bags
Paper Towels
Disposable Cutlery (plastic forks, knives, spoons)
Re-usable Grocery Bags or Gently-Used Disposable Plastic Bags
Table Clothes (cloth, rectangular 8-foot )
Cat & Dog Food (canned, small bags of dry, or large bags with 1-gallon zip-lock bags)
Salt and Pepper (large containers)
Garlic (granulated, powder, or minced)
Spices (large containers): Oregano, Basil, Cumin, Chili Powder, Paprika (regular and smoked)
Salad Dressing (low-fat)
Ketchup
Mustard
Mayonnaise
Relish (sweet & dill)
Olive Oil
Vegetable Oil
