Community Service Opportunity: Youth

This week Gail Beck from Tri-Town Youth Services (and our Community Potluck and Conversation on Youth) called FBC to invite us to volunteer!  Details are below.

What: Freshmen Transition Day
When: Wednesday, September 2nd from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Camp Hazen, Chester
Why: Freshman Transition Day is a day filled with activities and team building for incoming freshmen.  Adults are need to supervise & connect with teams of youth.  Lunch is provided.

Research shows that students who start their year with a positive experience and feel connected to peers, faculty, and community members are more likely to feel valued and to get involved in healthy activities that promote good choices and academic success. We all know that school and community leaders serve as healthy adult role models for all youth.

If you would like to volunteer, please contact Pastor Joy at RevJPerkett@gmail.com or 860-581-0493.
