After much prayer and discussion, the Friday worship team has decided to switch from Friday night  to an early Sunday evening time.  We hope that you help us pass the word to others!  Our new 6:30 worship time will begin in January 2009.

In the interim, we'd encourage you to read through the blog to get an idea of some of the worship services we had this past summer/fall.  Our prayer is that the worship experience will be more than just a one night stand. We hope it will invoke new insights, questions, thoughts, reflections, ideas, etc., and open your heart and mind to God throughout the week.

This is a place where you can throw out a couple of lines so others can nibble on them, but be prepared for some tugging.  Some may take the bait and respond with their own reflections!  Add your reflections and thoughts prayerfully.

And remember, you are always welcome to share your thoughts, struggles, experiences, reflections, etc., during the next worship experience.

9/5/08 - "Remember Me?"  A time to reflect on the significance of communion which is more than just bread and wine (well, grape juice in our case!).  We all need, like, and want to be remembered.  Nothing is more tragic than a family member who can no longer remember his or her family members.  Jesus shared the Passover meal with his disciples and asked them to "Remember me."  So when we share communion, we gather to remember him.

Communion is rooted in Passover which is rooted to the period of slavery of the Hebrew people in Egypt.  Here, the stories of Joseph and Moses come together.  The Passover meal that evolved in remembrance of the Hebrews coming out of the bondage of slavery (click here if you want more information on Passover/Seders).  Our communion "meal" of bread and wine is a reminder of our freedom from enslavement to the world.   So, take, eat, and remember that as you remember Christ, God also remembers you.  Listen to this wonderful communion song called "In Remembrance" by Robert Kochis.
