From the North or South on I-95:
Exit I-95 onto CT - 9 North. Take Exit 3 from CT-9 North. At the end of the exit ramp you will make a left turn onto Rt. 154. At the first light (just after the Fire Station and a commuter lot) you will turn right onto West Avenue. Continue on West Ave. up the hill past the Essex Library and Essex Town Hall to a stop sign. At the stop sign you will be at a fork in the road. Take the left fork onto Prospect Street. (Be careful when making this turn because traffic coming in the opposite direction on West Ave. does not have a stop sign.) Once onto Prospect Street, the road makes a sharp left and takes you past Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. The driveway to First Baptist Church is just past Our Lady of Sorrows. Handicapped elevator access to the sanctuary is located through the side door. Welcome!
From CT-9 traveling south:
Take Exit 3 from CT-9 traveling south. At the end of the ramp, make a left turn onto Rt. 154 and make a left turn at the first light onto West Ave. Stay in the right lane after turn to avoid ending up back on CT-9. Continue on West Ave. and follow directions above from the third line.
